Job summary

Amazon’s Fleet Performance Optimization (FPO) organization seeks an SDE to design, build, and operate distributed systems at fleet scale. You will work with ML scientists and partner teams to translate research into production systems that process real-time signals across hundreds of workcells.

Responsibilities span deployment infrastructure, data pipelines, and monitoring while aiming to improve throughput and cost efficiency in a robotics-enabled fulfillment environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience on distributed systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems or data-intensive applications.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Build high-throughput, event-based scoring services for real-time inventory signals across multiple warehouses and workcells.
• Design config-based annotation orchestration systems for ML data pipelines without code changes.
• Develop model deployment infrastructure spanning edge devices, cloud inference, and planning systems.
• Build fleet monitoring systems using ML techniques to detect performance anomalies and surface root causes.
• Create unified data exploration and visualization tools used daily by engineers, scientists, and operations.
• Own end-to-end systems from design to production operations with measurable impact on throughput, quality, and cost.
