Job summary

Amazon is seeking a software development engineer for the Fleet Performance Optimization (FPO) team. You will design and operate distributed systems that power robotics workcells, with real-time scoring, annotation orchestration, and model deployment across fleet-scale environments.

You will collaborate with ML scientists and partner engineering teams to translate research into production systems, enabling improvements in throughput, quality, and cost across millions of packages.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in design/architecture of distributed systems.
• Experience programming with at least one language.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience building distributed, data-intensive applications.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed systems at robotics scale.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to productionize research.
• Develop high-throughput scoring services for real-time signals.
• Onboard ML data pipelines with config-based annotation orchestration.
• Deploy model inference, edge to cloud, and monitoring infrastructure.
• Own end-to-end system ownership from design to production.
