Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build the full-stack software that keeps thousands of robots moving across the fulfillment network. You will shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, and own complex problems end to end.

You will work on distributed systems, real-time monitoring dashboards, and maintenance tools that improve reliability and throughput at scale, collaborating with stakeholders and customers to test prototypes and drive impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement distributed systems applications and infrastructure in support of robotic movement.
• Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.
• Work with stakeholders across solutions architecture and operations teams to iterate on design and implementation.
• Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
• Prototype and test concepts or features, both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment
• Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.
• Mentor other engineer team members.
• Utilize software engineering processes and technologies.
