Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the AgentCore/Harness team in New York. You will design, implement, test, deploy, and operate core components across control and data planes for production AI agents. You will tackle distributed systems challenges, ensure low latency, and collaborate with cross-service teams to improve APIs and tooling.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, scalable architectures, and customer-focused delivery in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for scalable systems.
• 1+ years of SDE or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years designing large-scale distributed software applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate highly available control plane APIs and data plane services for production AI agents.
• Build secure, isolated execution capabilities across tool orchestration, memory, identity, networking, and observability.
• Develop integrations between Bedrock, AgentCore services, AWS Step Functions, and customer environments.
• Implement versioning, endpoints, progressive deployment, rollback, evaluation, and optimization for safe agent behavior.
• Analyze latency, scalability, availability, and cost across multi-tenant workloads.
• Simplify developer journey across APIs, SDKs, CLI, and infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate with customers and partner teams to reduce friction and accelerate time to production.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentoring across teams.
