Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Software Development Engineer for the AFX Core Experiences team in Seattle to design and deliver scalable services that empower AWS field operations and partners. You will build AI-powered agents and tooling, own features end-to-end, and collaborate with product managers and engineers to ship reliable software at internet scale.

You will mentor junior engineers and help raise the bar on quality, cost efficiency, and customer impact while shaping

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate scalable software and AI-powered agent services that help AWS sellers and partners work more effectively.
• Own features end-to-end — from design through implementation, code review, deployment, and operational support.
• Write clean, well-tested code, participate actively in code reviews, and uphold high engineering and operational-excellence standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call, and drive improvements to reliability, latency, and cost.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, help pay down technical debt, and adopt AI-augmented development practices to raise team velocity.
• Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and continuously raise the bar on quality and customer impact.
