Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Austin seeks a Software Development Engineer to join the Specialist AI Tooling team.

You will design, build, and operate core AI-powered components driving agentic solutions for AWS specialists and field teams at scale. You will work with LLMs, knowledge graphs, RAG, and multi-agent orchestration to deliver production GenAI features, optimize routing, and build scalable services across multiple products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of large-scale systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• Experience with at least one of C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production agentic AI systems using LLMs, knowledge graphs, RAG, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Build and optimize GenAI-powered pipelines including summarization, content ranking, skill assessment, and intelligent routing.
• Develop and iterate on prompt engineering strategies, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails for production LLM systems.
• Implement embedding and retrieval strategies for a knowledge base to optimize indexing, retrieval, and contextualization for agents.
• Design and build scalable distributed systems and APIs powering the TFC Hub platform for thousands of users across 46 domains.
• Drive operational excellence for production services, owning CI/CD, monitoring, alarming, on-call, and incident response.
