Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer for Agent Platforms & Services in New York. You will define how AI agents operate within a large ad ecosystem, building orchestration, trust systems, and scalable inference that power advertiser decisions.

You’ll work with scientists and product teams on secure integration and end-to-end agent experiences. This greenfield role emphasizes shipping fast, systems thinking, and shaping how AI transforms advertising at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Develop orchestration systems coordinating multiple AI sub-agents for complex workflows.
• Build identity, authorization, and permission frameworks for secure access.
• Implement feedback signal pipelines for model improvement loops.
• Partner with Applied Scientists to integrate RL from human feedback into production systems.
• Design and operate evaluation systems to measure quality and detect regressions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration contracts and onboard new consumers.
• Own reliability, observability, and performance of scalable agent infrastructure.
