Self-Help for the Elderly seeks a Project Assistant in San Francisco for the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). The role covers recruitment, intake, case management, training, job coaching, placement, and retention of older workers.

You will support orientation, develop IEPs, train on job-readiness, track progress, and assist with partner coordination and reporting. Travel across SCSEP sites is required.

Qualificações

• Requires either an associate/bachelor in social work, counseling, education or related field or a high school diploma with at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Experience in business, employment training, or government-funded workforce development programs is preferred; hospitality/health care background is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations and low-income older adults.
• Must be self-motivated, organized and able to multitask with minimal supervision.
• Must pass a background check; bilingual in English, Chinese, Vietnamese, or other languages; willingness to travel across SCSEP sites.

Responsabilidades

• Identify, recruit, and select participants and host agencies; provide program orientation and on-the-job training to prepare for job market transition.
• Assist and follow supervisor’s plan; understand program requirements and policies.
• Conduct intake, assessment and eligibility screening; develop Individual Employment Plans (IEP) for new participants.
• Assist participants with job search and referrals; provide case management for grievances or harassment matters.
• Support participant job searches, on-the-job training, resume writing, interview prep and job readiness activities.
• Monitor timesheets bi-weekly; assist payroll processing; prepare monthly program and ad hoc reports; validate data.
