Job summary

Emory Healthcare provides nursing care under RN supervision, following the patient’s care plan and contributing to data collection on patient needs and responses. The scrub tech role includes completing delegated tasks across patient categories with adherence to care standards.

The position requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program (or final scrub tech quarter), at least one year of scrub tech experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completed an accredited surgical technology program or is currently enrolled and in good standing in their last quarter of scrub tech program.
• One year scrub tech experience. Education may substitute for Experience.
• Current AHA/ARC BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a registered nurse, provides nursing care and completes tasks delegated for all categories of patients.
• Utilizes patient's individualized plan of care in providing care and collecting data relating to patients' needs and response.
• Provides care in accordance with Houston Healthcare's Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, standards of care and standards of performance.
