Job summary

AHMC HealthCare is seeking a Labor & Delivery Technician to assist with patient care tasks and maintain equipment and supplies in the Labor & Delivery area. You will scrub for C-Sections and deliveries, and remain proficient in computer order entry while anticipating and stocking required supplies.

The role requires completion of a recognized Surgical Technician training program, BLS Level C certification, and at least one year of relevant acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of recognized training course for Surgical Technician (military or civilian).
• Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification.
• One year experience as a Labor & Delivery technician in an acute care setting.
• Demonstrated ability to scrub procedures in all specialty areas as well as to provide training for other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care tasks and maintain equipment and supplies in Labor & Delivery.
• Scrub for C-Sections and deliveries; maintain skills in computer order entry.
• Anticipate and order supplies and equipment in Labor and Delivery.
• Stock Labor rooms and LDRs; prepare and pass instruments, sutures, and supplies using aseptic technique.
• Ensure specimens are collected, labeled, and delivered correctly; assist in transporting patients.
