Using humor, emotion, intelligence, and to-the-minute pop cultural aptitude, we provide fans with unique content that breaks down the biggest stories in the game in ways that are authentic, meaningful, and compulsively entertaining.

We are looking for an amazing Script Writer who is passionate about the game of soccer, and clearly understands how to write in someone else’s voice and language. This position is critical to our business, and an ideal candidate not only requires a baseline knowledge of soccer, but a broad cultural, geographic, and political consciousness.

Script Writer

Location: United States, Remote

What You’ll Do

• Create well-thought-out scripts in the voice and tone of the hosts on the Men in Blazers media network, staying consistent with our brand
• Conduct research to gather information and insights on relevant soccer news, events, and personalities.
• Stay on top of emerging topics and trends related to soccer, and find ways to incorporate them into the Men in Blazers media network.
• Collaborate with leadership and production team in preparation of interviews to ensure final versions of scripts are greenlit for broadcast.
• Conduct pre interviews with guests to support research process
  
  

What You Need

• A Bachelor's degree, ideally in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in writing scripts for podcasts, TV Shows, movies, or speeches.
• A broad cultural, geographic, and political consciousness
• An ability to write effectively in someone else's voice
• An excellent sense of humor and a knack for weaving humor, insight, and soccer-related topics into writing, while also being able to reference a well stocked mental library
• A demonstrated ability to work around (very) tight deadlines to deliver scripts
• High level of communication skills
• Willingness to move off the ball to assist other team members
• Flexibility to be available during stoppage time, when necessary
