Elite Editing is seeking Spanish speakers with tech writing and interviewing experience! The ideal candidate is a seasoned bilingual freelance marketing strategist and writer able to conduct Spanish-language interviews for the creation of customer-centric, business-focused customer evidence case studies, blogs, and marketing materials for our Fortune 500 business, technology, and thought leadership clients. Our interviewers engage with our Spanish-speaking clients to determine a messaging strategy and uncover key story points. They then lead a virtual interview with the client’s Spanish-speaking customers to capture their story, seeking specific information, metrics, and quotable statements from C-suite and director-level stakeholders. With the support of editorial staff, the storyteller will then weave key client messaging into a unique customer success story or blog, written in Spanish, providing a public-facing final product that is valuable to both our clients and their stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Research business trends, technical solutions, and industry-specific challenges in preparation for conversations with stakeholders.
- Track and record all story elements, research, and discoveries.
- Lead meetings in fluent Spanish with client stakeholders to discuss and determine relevant ways to convey the client’s intended messaging and accomplish the goals for the story or blog.
- Conduct conversational Spanish interviews with customer stakeholders to capture their story and uncover story details relevant to the customer experience.
- Craft a story strategy using client marketing and messaging guidelines and information from customer interviews.
- Create a strategic brief based on the client’s messaging and the information from the customer interview that will be utilized by the editorial and production team throughout the engagement.
- Write engaging, on-brand case studies and blog posts in Spanish, aligning with a client-specific style guide.
- Collaborate with English-speaking internal teams to follow and improve relevant processes.
You’ll be at the top of our list if you have:
- Complete fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) and professional-level fluency or better in English
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in business, technology, or IT-related content development, marketing, or journalism
- Experience with interviewing subject matter experts, thought leaders, and executives
- Experience writing customer stories, case studies, or thought leadership pieces
- The ability to ensure a pleasant, effective, and directed flow of conversation and action with multiple stakeholders
- An understanding of how to quickly establish and maintain trust with stakeholders and problem-solve in the moment
- Prior agency experience or an understanding of agency/client relationships
Time commitment:
- Availability for a minimum of 15 hours per week for interviewing and writing
- Flexibility to respond to work offers quickly (within one business day)
- Although we schedule most interviews 1 to 2 weeks out, we occasionally seek availability to complete expedited interviewing or writing assignments in 1 to 2 business days
- Ability to align with stakeholders’ availability for remote meetings and interviews
Rates:
- Paid training
- Rates are tiered based on experience gained through completed work and demonstrated skill
- Higher pay rates are available for expedited work
Application steps for storytelling:
- Download the writing test and complete it in Spanish.
- Submit the writing test with your résumé and cover letter with journalistic writing samples that are fact or evidence-based. Please note: Only candidates with all four criteria will be considered (writing test, resume, cover letter, writing samples).
- Select candidates will be asked to conduct a mock interview in Spanish with an interviewing lead at Elite. They will be given materials in English in advance to prepare.
- Successful candidates will then be hired and move into a training status.
