The starting base salary range for the Marketing Content Writer II is $55,000 to $77,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Marketing Content Writer Overview

The Marketing Content Writer is responsible for creating engaging and concise copy for various platforms. This job is responsible for working with the Marketing team to develop strategies to reach targeted audiences and collaborate with subject matter experts and senior executives. This role is responsible for ensuring that all materials are consistent with our brand and compliant with regulations. This role also involves increasing awareness of our mission, vision, and values, and serving as a public relations liaison.

  • Develop and modify content for sales and marketing materials for all business products and internal/external corporate communications including corporate reports, brochures, websites, videos, advertisements, event materials, PowerPoint presentations, and other types of informative and instructional materials
  • Develop key messages and recommend communication approach that resonate with the targeted audiences
  • Establish communication tactics in conjunction with marketing leadership to ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to stakeholders
  • Work with team, develop creative concepts for marketing collateral, presentations, and other materials
  • Keep current with appropriate software and capabilities
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong editorial and proofreading skills to align copy with AP Style Guide and brand standards
  • Ability to translate corporate strategies and new product initiatives into strong sales messages in a broad range of communication vehicles
  • Exceptional writing and content management skills, along with outstanding oral communications skills
  • Possess knowledge of news and storytelling techniques, both in written copy and video script form
  • Ability to create captivating written content in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and an expert level attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in presentations, Microsoft Word, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Datorama, PowerPoint; basic Excel and Adobe Creative Cloud skills

Marketing Content Writer II Required Education and Experience:

  • Marketing experience with insurance products or within healthcare
  • Bachelor's Degree - related experience can substitute
  • 3 or more years of related experience
  • Or, equivalent military experience

Marketing Content Writer II Preferred Education and Experience

  • Marketing experience with Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Certification(s) may be desired
