Job summary

Summit Interconnect in Schaumburg, IL, is seeking a dedicated screen imaging and legend ink operator. Under supervision you will set up screening equipment, mix legend ink, operate machines, and ensure high-quality legend application.

The role requires attention to detail, strong reading of work orders, and the ability to work independently under time constraints. Prior PCB industry exposure is a plus, with safety and ITAR compliance guiding daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • PCB industry experience is a plus

  • Clean up of all tools.
  • Quality workmanship in pushing legend.
  • Knowledge of Summit Traveler, work order number and tool number.
  • Check artwork and identify if serialization is required.
  • Monitor bake time of legend and identify next step on traveler.
  • Comprehend industry standards, customer specifications and referenced materials.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Work under pressure with time constraints.
  • Operate all manual processes and supporting equipment with little supervision.
  • Follow company systems and procedures.

About the Role

Under general supervision perform screen imaging and mixing legend ink, operate screening machines and ensure quality workmanship in pushing legend.

  • Perform other department or company related tasks at the direction of management.
Required Skills
  • General ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Basic mathematical and reasoning ability is required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have very good concentration and must be able to remain focused with minor interruptions.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Must be able to cooperate and communicate effectively with management/supervisory staff Work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in printed circuit board (PCB) industry will be preferred.
  • Understanding of industry standards and appropriate application.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the PCB industry is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long period of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following detailed safety precautions (wearing respirators, handling hazardous materials, working with industrial machinery, etc.)
  • Using equipment as per operating procedures (heavy machines, test equipment, power tools, etc.).
