Job summary

HRI, INC. is seeking a Screed Operator to safely operate the screed and coordinate with the Paver Operator and dumpman to maintain a consistent paving speed and uniform head of material at the required depth, width, and slope under supervision.

Responsibilities include pre-shift checks, wiring and equipment inspections, depth and slope adjustments, and clear communication to ensure safety, quality, and productivity on busy construction sites.

Qualifications

• Must read measurements and calculate depth, width and slope accurately.
• Mathematical basics for yield and placement.
• Excellent communication with crew and flaggers.
• Willingness to complete PADOT Flagger Training and safety courses.

Responsibilities

• Place screed on locks and block to prevent accidents.
• Inspect screed components and ensure readiness of systems.
• Set depth, slope and width to meet project specs.
• Maintain safety around live traffic and overhead utilities.
• Relieve flaggers and assist crew as needed.
• Perform end-of-shift maintenance and area cleanup.
