Superior Paving Corp. is seeking a Screed Operator to manage the screed on an asphalt paver, ensuring correct mat thickness, smoothness, crown, and overall pavement quality in Virginia. The role requires precision, teamwork, and a strong understanding of asphalt behavior and grade control.
Candidates should have 2–4 years of paving experience and at least 1 year operating a screed on road projects. Must be able to work overtime, weekends and nights, and comply with safety regulations.

A Screed Operator is responsible for controlling the screed on an asphalt paver to ensure proper mat thickness, smoothness, crown and overall pavement quality. This role requires precision, coordination with the paving crew and a deep understanding of asphalt behavior, grade control and paving best practices.
Requirements
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds; pull up one’s own body weight; and sit in one position for up to 12 hours per day. It also requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods; tolerate noise, vibration, heat, and outdoor conditions common to paving operations; demonstrate the manual dexterity needed to use hand tools and equipment; and maintain good eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, multi-limb coordination, static strength, and balance
Work is performed outdoors on roadways and construction zones in all weather conditions, with regular exposure to hot asphalt, dust, fumes, loud noise, and equipment vibration.

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $28.00–$30.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and training.
