Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs subsidiary Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) seeks an Equipment Operator for our Canton, OH facility. You will operate heavy equipment to process scrap metals, load and unload materials, and help manage yard logistics while maintaining safety and PPE standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED (or 1+ year experience), ability to lift 50 lbs, read/write and perform basic math, and good communication. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this role.

• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean work environment with PPE compliance.
• Load, unload, move and stage materials using mobile equipment.
• Sort and inspect scrap materials and identify non-conforming items.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment including loaders and forklifts.
• Process, weigh and store materials in inventory locations.
• Assist with maintenance and yard logistics tasks.
