Job summary

Profluent Bio, Inc. is seeking a creative Scientist II - Sr. Scientist to build experimental workflows for base editor specificity and genomic safety.

You will establish and scale CHANGE-seq-BE workflows, benchmark assays, and interpret sequencing data to guide editor design. The role involves collaboration with protein engineering, cell biology, and bioinformatics teams. You will shape how AI-designed genome editing systems are evaluated, with opportunities to lead junior staff and advance

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in molecular biology, genomics, genome editing, biochemistry, bioengineering, genetics, chemical biology, or a related field with 2-4 years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead base editor specificity assessment strategies.
• Develop, benchmark, and apply orthogonal methods to evaluate editing specificity.
• Design studies to identify and validate off-target events with NGS.
• Generate high-quality datasets to inform editor engineering and program decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate workflows into the R&D infra.
