Job summary

Profluent is seeking a motivated scientist to establish and lead a centralized gene editor screening function. You will design, run, and troubleshoot mammalian genome editing assays with NGS readouts and build a scalable screening core.

You will mentor a team and collaborate with Automation, Bioinformatics, Data Science, and Biology to ensure data quality and reproducibility. You will balance hands-on execution with people management, drive infrastructure projects to improve throughput, and help

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with extensive industry experience in molecular biology and genome editing.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian and bacterial workflows and NGS‑based assays.
• Proven ability to establish technical standards and drive reproducible results across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of 2–4 Research Associates, including hiring and development.
• Train staff on aseptic technique, assay execution, and documentation standards.
• Coordinate cross‑functional work with Automation, Bioinformatics, Data Science, and Biology to keep the screening pipeline running.
• Design, run, and troubleshoot mammalian genome editing assays with NGS readouts in arrayed and pooled formats.
• Define and enforce technical standards, write SOPs, and qualify new assays based on reproducibility data.
• Maintain cell line quality and inventory, coordinating with cell banks.
