Job summary

Genentech seeks a Scientist 3 in Translational Medicine, Oncology to lead hands-on lab research in lung and GI cancers. You will design experiments, analyze complex data, and collaborate with Oncology, Computational Sciences, and Translational Genomics teams to advance biomarkers and therapies.

The role emphasizes strong experimental design, data interpretation, and adoption of emerging translational technologies such as single-cell and spatial profiling to inform patient selection and biomarker

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, or related fields (or BA/BS/MS with 6+ years).
Deep cancer biology and immunology knowledge; lung/GI cancer context is a plus.
Experience leading hands-on lab-based translational research and developing assays.

Responsibilities

Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses from non-clinical and clinical data.
Analyze and interpret experimental and computational results with cross-functional teams.
Elucidate action mechanisms and resistance to immunotherapies/targeted therapies.
Develop and apply multi-omic and cell-based assays for translational questions.
Establish collaborations to access new technologies and datasets.
