Job summary

SSI People seeks a skilled scientist to support protein characterization and analytical research from early discovery through molecule optimization. You will generate high-quality mass spectrometry data to inform project teams and advance programs.

Responsibilities include protein, peptide, and glycan analyses by MS (RPLC-MS, RPLC-MS/MS, native-MS), peptide mapping, data processing, and reporting results to project teams to guide decision-making. On-site in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Qualifications

• PhD, or MS with 2+ years in biopharmaceutical analytical chemistry or biochemistry.
• Experience with RPLC-MS for intact protein and subunit mass analysis.
• Experience with protein digestion and RPLC-MS/MS for sequence mapping and PTMs.
• Ability to generate, process, and interpret large LC-MS data sets with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct protein, peptide, and glycan analysis using MS techniques (RPLC-MS, MS/MS, native-MS).
• Perform auto-digestion and peptide mapping to support characterization.
• Generate, process, and interpret MS data and present results to project teams.

Job Summary

We are representing a company seeking a skilled scientist to support protein characterization and analytical research across early discovery through later-stage molecule optimization. This position plays an important role in generating high-quality mass spectrometry data that helps inform project teams and advance scientific programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct protein, peptide, and glycan analysis and characterization using mass spectrometry techniques, including RPLC-MS, RPLC-MS/MS, native-MS, and related analytical methods.
• Perform auto-digestion and peptide mapping to support protein characterization and sequence analysis.
• Generate, process, and interpret mass spectrometry data sets, then prepare reports to communicate results to project teams.
• Support scientific and technical work across discovery research, molecule optimization, and late-stage selection activities.

Required

• Doctorate degree, or Master’s degree with 2 years of biopharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of biopharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience.
• Experience using analytical characterization techniques such as RPLC-MS for intact protein, reduced and subunit protein mass analysis.
• Experience with protein digestion and RPLC-MS/MS to map protein sequence and characterize post translational modifications such as deamidation, isomerization, and oxidation, with associated data processing.
• Experience generating, processing, and using large LC-MS analytical data sets, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
