Scientific Business Development Representative

United States | Remote | Contract | Commission-Based

About the Role

OmicSkyBio LLC is seeking an experienced Scientific Business Development Representative to develop new client relationships and business opportunities across the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, CRO, academic, and translational research sectors.

The representative will identify qualified prospects, understand their analytical needs, introduce relevant OmicSkyBio services, and advance opportunities from initial engagement through scientific discussion, proposal, and project award.

The representative leads relationship development, while OmicSkyBio provides scientific scoping, proposal preparation, contracting support, and project execution.

This is a remote, nonexclusive, commission-only independent contractor opportunity. There is no guaranteed salary or hourly compensation.

About OmicSkyBio

OmicSkyBio is a scientist-led contract research organization providing comprehensive LC-MS bioanalysis, biologics characterization, and multi-omics services. Our work ranges from routine analytical testing and established workflows to customized method development, advanced molecular characterization, and integrated data analysis.

Core service areas include:

  • LC-MS and LC-MS/MS analysis, method development, optimization, transfer, and troubleshooting
  • Small-molecule bioanalysis, PK/PD support, and targeted quantitative assays
  • Antibody, protein, ADC, and biologics characterization, including intact mass analysis and peptide mapping
  • Proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, host-cell protein analysis, and biomarker studies
  • Extracellular-vesicle analysis and integrated multi-omics data interpretation
Responsibilities
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities aligned with OmicSkyBio's services.
  • Build relationships with scientific and business decision-makers in biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, CRO, and research organizations.
  • Understand prospective clients' programs, analytical requirements, timelines, and project objectives.
  • Present relevant OmicSkyBio capabilities and coordinate technical discussions with the scientific team.
  • Develop opportunities through professional relationships, referrals, strategic partnerships, conferences, and targeted outreach.
  • Support qualified opportunities through scientific scoping, proposal development, commercial follow-up, and project award.
  • Develop relationships with complementary CROs, consultants, and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and follow-up information.
  • Provide market feedback on client needs, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.

OmicSkyBio's scientific team will be responsible for feasibility assessment, study design, pricing, proposals, contracting, project execution, data analysis, and reporting.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in life-science business development, scientific sales, CRO services, consulting, bioanalysis, analytical development, pharmaceutical research, or biotechnology.
  • Established professional relationships within biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, CRO, academic, or translational research organizations.
  • Working knowledge of one or more relevant areas, such as LC-MS bioanalysis, analytical development, biologics characterization, proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, biomarkers, translational medicine, DMPK, PK/PD, CMC, antibodies, ADCs, recombinant proteins, or other therapeutic modalities.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with scientists, technical leaders, and biotechnology executives.
  • Ability to identify client needs, develop professional relationships, and advance opportunities involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organization, and commercial follow-up skills.
  • Self-directed, ethical, and comfortable working in a flexible, results-oriented arrangement.

An advanced scientific degree is helpful but not required. Relevant industry experience, scientific credibility, professional relationships, and commercial effectiveness are more important than a specific degree.

What OmicSkyBio Provides
  • Technical feasibility assessment and study-design support
  • Company presentations and service materials
  • Proposal, quotation, and contracting support
  • Project execution, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting
  • Clear opportunity registration and commission tracking
