Job summary

Summit Public Schools in Redwood City, CA seeks a Science Teacher for SY26-27 to join a mission-driven team. You will mentor a fixed group of students, lead project-based learning, and collaborate with colleagues to deliver equitable, rigorous instruction aligned with Summit’s model.

You are committed to DEIB, hold a California teaching credential, and bring a Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred). Regular professional development and a growth mindset are expected.

Qualifications

• Commitment to upholding Summit’s values and providing a rigorous, equitable education.
• Strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB).
• Teaching Credential in California or another US state.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Clear health and background check and suitability for teaching role.

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students within advisory groups, building trust across years.
• Lead Project Time with project-based learning and real-world application of content.
• Conduct Mentor Time with daily mentor group meetings and student coaching.
• Provide Self‑Directed Learning time and targeted literacy/math interventions.
• Collaborate with faculty in bi-weekly all‑faculty meetings and professional development.
