Job summary

Summit Public Schools in the Bay Area seeks a Science Teacher for SY26-27 to join a mission-driven team. You will work within Summit’s project-based model, mentor groups, and collaborative professional development to support student growth.

Teachers engage in advisory groups, project time, and self-directed interventions, while upholding Summit's DEIB values and providing an equitable education. Salary starts at $63,718 and increases to $99,987 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Teaching Credential in California or another US state.
• Bachelor's Degree (a Master’s Degree in Education is preferred, but not required).
• Clear health and background check.
• Teaching experience in your subject is preferred, but not required.
• Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) within daily practices.

Responsibilities

• See sample teacher schedules and manage 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. workday expectations.
• Teach project time: 90-minute blocks in high school or four 55-minute blocks in middle school.
• Build mentor relationships with a small group of mentees daily.
• Facilitate Self-Directed Learning time and interventions.
• Collaborate in all-faculty after-school meetings for PD and planning.
