Job summary

Summit Public Schools in the Bay Area is seeking a Social Science Teacher for SY26-27 to inspire students through a project-based deep learning model. You will mentor a cohort of students, lead advisory groups, and deliver interdisciplinary projects that connect classroom learning to real-world issues.

The role requires a California teaching credential, a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), and a commitment to DEIB and equitable education.

Qualifications

• Teaching credential in California or another US state.
• Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Clear health and background check.
• Teaching experience in the subject is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project-based learning through 90-minute blocks or four 55-minute blocks per day.
• Mentor a small group of mentees daily and support their personal goals.
• Facilitate Self-Directed Learning time and interventions.
• Collaborate with faculty during after-school meetings and professional development.
