Job summary

New Visions for Public Schools is seeking a part-time Professional Learning Specialist to collaborate with staff and school leaders. You will coach teachers, design professional learning sessions, and support rollout of high-quality science materials across NYC and beyond.

The role focuses on aligning with NGSS/NYSSLS, OpenSciEd curricula, and HQIM, while staying connected to district standards and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• Masters-level degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in public education, urban schools preferred.
• Minimum 3 years supervising/coaching teachers across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to understand and implement New Visions science curricula and OpenSciEd.
• Develop and deliver professional learning opportunities for teachers.
• Coach teachers and instructional leaders to build school capacity.
• Support rollout of HQIM in science across districts.
