Job summary

New Visions for Public Schools seeks a Professional Learning Specialist - Science (Part Time) to lead professional learning and coaching across NYC schools. You will support teachers with New Visions and OpenSciEd curricula, develop sessions, and drive instructional capacity building.

The role requires collaboration with district leaders, staying current with NYS standards, and traveling to NYC public schools several days each week. A Master's degree and urban education experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years in public education, urban schools preferred.
• Minimum 3 years supervising or leading teachers across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to understand New Visions biology and OpenSciEd curricula.
• Develop and deliver professional learning sessions, coaching, and data dives.
• Coach teachers and instructional leaders to build school-based instructional capacity.
• Support district leaders in rolling out HQIM in science.
• Monitor shifts in standards and create supplemental materials for leaders and teachers.
