Job summary

New Visions for Public Schools in New York City seeks a Professional Learning Specialist within the Curriculum & Instruction Department to lead and refine district science curriculum implementation. You will coach teachers, deliver side-by-side coaching, and run data dives that strengthen HQIM use across campuses.

This part-time, hourly role requires 2–3 days per week (15–20 hours) and in-person work across NYC schools.

Qualifications

• Masters-level degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public education, preferably urban schools and secondary level science.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising, coaching, or leading teachers, ideally in at least 2 different school sites.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Curriculum staff to gain understanding of New Visions science curricula and OpenSciEd materials.
• Develop and implement teacher professional learning—including coaching, workshops, and other formats—across NYC, NYS, and beyond.
• Study and facilitate curriculum implementation in school sites.
• Collaborate to develop coaching plans that support teachers and instructional leaders in building school-based capacity for HQIM in science.
