Job summary

Buffalo Prep, Inc. is seeking a Science Academic Coach to support high school students by delivering personalized science tutoring sessions, in small groups or one-on-one, tailored to each student’s goals and learning pace. The role emphasizes active listening, culturally responsive practice, and collaboration with the Director of College Prep Programming.

Availability Monday–Thursday 4:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. during the academic year, with occasional weekend trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science-related field or actively pursuing one.
• Experience with diverse student populations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject-specific science tutoring to high school students.
• Adapt instruction to each student’s learning style.
• Create a professional, welcoming environment respecting diverse cultures.
• Use active listening to set content and pace.
• Participate in professional development to improve tutoring skills.
• Attend required trainings and share feedback for improvement.
• Maintain timely communication with the Director of College Prep Programming.
• Be available Monday–Thursday 4:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. during the academic year; weekends as needed.
