Job summary

Durham School Services is hiring Van/Minibus Drivers in training to safely transport students to and from school. Starting pay is $23 per hour with a sign-on bonus of $500 for licensed US drivers and immediate training.

Location-based training begins at 127 Pine Rd, Brentwood NH with flexible scheduling and opportunities for advancement. No experience is required; extensive staff training is provided to obtain endorsements and transition to a Non-CDL Driver role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, all valid applicable state license and endorsements to operate company vehicles.
• Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening.
• Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training.
• Must practice defensive driving at all times and maintain safe driving/work habits.
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and contract-specific driver requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or vehicle on a fixed or changing route.
• Exhibits high ethical standards and reports concerns to supervisor.
• Maintains on-time performance and safe operations.
• Assists passengers during evacuations in emergencies.
• Reports accidents or incidents per company policy.
• Follows student/passenger management policies and informs relevant personnel of issues.
• Presents a neat, professional appearance and completes required paperwork promptly.
• Maintains cooperative relations with colleagues, customers, and passengers while promoting company goodwill.
• Operates vehicle equipment safely, including wheelchair lifts and radios.
• Performs other duties as assigned; paratransit duties may apply per location.
