Job summary

Rohrer Bus, based in Duncannon, PA, seeks a School Van Driver to transport students safely to and from school. Responsibilities include following routes, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining a clean, orderly vehicle while communicating professionally with school personnel and families.

The role requires a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving history, age 21+, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening. Familiarity with Samsara and Dayforce is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory driving history.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Medical: Ability to pass initial and routine physical examinations and drug/alcohol screening.
• Familiar with fleet/workforce tech such as Samsara and Dayforce.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely and courteously in accordance with traffic laws and policies.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to pick up and drop off students.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip safety checks of the vehicle.
• Maintain a safe, orderly environment inside the vehicle and enforce safety rules.
• Assist students boarding/exiting, including safety equipment as required.
• Report delays, mechanical defects, or incidents to dispatch and management.
• Attend safety and training meetings and perform required drills.
