Job summary

Winchester Thurston School is seeking a Van Driver to transport students to and from the City Campus during the morning and afternoon windows, Monday through Friday. The role may include daytime trips to local sites for field experiences, and the driver will operate under the supervision of the Operations Manager and Head of School.

The ideal candidate will have a valid PA driver's license, complete mandatory clearances, and demonstrate punctuality, responsibility, and courtesy while working

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Annual physical examination.
• Motor vehicle record check.
• Attend at least one annual van driver training session each school year.

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from Winchester Thurston City Campus in the mornings and afternoons (Mon–Fri).
• May transport students during the school day to local sites for field trips.
• Collaborate with other van drivers to meet transportation obligations and maintain safety and service quality.

Position Summary

No CDL Necessary. 9 Passenger vans.

The Van Driver provides transportation for students to and from our City Campus Monday - Friday in the mornings and afternoons.

In addition, Van Drivers may be called upon to transport students during the school day to local sites for field trips.

The individual in this position provides support in a manner that advances and upholds the mission and philosophy of our school.

He/she enhances the school's reputation by embracing Customer Service as a core goal and by accepting ownership of and adding value to tasks and responsibilities in a professional manner.

The Van Driver performs under the general direction of the Head of School and under the daily supervision of the Operations Manager.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, successfully complete:

• An annual physical examination
• Motor vehicle record check
• Attend at least one annual van driver training session each school year.

Employment Is Contingent On Obtaining The Following Clearances

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse clearance
• Pennsylvania Criminal History clearance
• FBI Fingerprinting clearance
• In addition, completion of Form PDE-6004 Arrest/Conviction Report is required.

The ideal candidate must be punctual, responsible, and courteous. He/she will work collaboratively with other van drivers to ensure that all transportation obligations are met.

Work Schedule

As needed; normal morning transportation hours between 5:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.; normal afternoon transportation hours 2:15 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.; occasional field trips between 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
