Job summary

Eries Public Schools is seeking a Student Van Driver to transport EPS students safely along designated routes in accordance with the time schedule. This is a 12-month position reporting to the Director of Non-Instructional Support Services.

The role requires a PA valid drivers license with endorsements or willingness to pursue CDL, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Experience with young children is preferred and quality customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a PA valid drivers license (CDL-S endorsement) and be insurable; CDL preferred.
• Five years of driving experience with clean record.
• Must pass physical exam.
• Ability to drive and maintain passenger van.
• Ability to lift 80 pounds.
• Bondable and able to perform repetitive lifting and reaching.
• Professional tact when interacting with staff, students and the community.
• Experience working with young children preferred.

• Safely transport EPS students.
• District labor duties when not driving.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisors of Maintenance/Transportation.

Qualifications

• Have and maintain a current PA valid driver’s license (CDL - S endorsement -P/Air Brakes) and be insurable by the District’s Insurance Company, preferred. In absence of CDL, selected candidate must agree to pursue CDL license and endorsements with PennDOT.
• Five (5) years driving experience with a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass physical examination
• Ability to drive and maintain passenger van
• Ability to lift eighty (80) pounds
• Must be bondable
• Must be able to do repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling
• Must be able to do repetitive stooping, kneeling and crouching
• Must be able to do repetitive reaching and handling of heavy materials and/or equipment
• Possess current satisfactory performance evaluations.
• Professional tact, diplomacy and flexibility with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community
• Knowledge, skills and experience related to working with young children
