Job summary

RSU5 is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical transport of students to and from school, events, and field trips. Reporting to the Director of Transportation, the role oversees daily routing and scheduling using computerized software, coordinates driver safety training, and assists with fleet maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree in business or logistics preferred) and 2–3 years in transportation

Qualifications

• Experience in routing and scheduling for student transportation.
• Ability to manage high-pressure, dynamic schedules.
• Strong communication with parents and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily routing and scheduling using software.
• Oversee driver safety training and fleet maintenance.
• Act as liaison for parents and administration on logistics.
• Assist with department budget, expense tracking, and compliance reporting.
