Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with students of various age levels requiring a specialized learning environment.
• Possession of a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent and one of the following: 2 years of college, an associate's degree, or passing the district assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assists a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with disabilities.
• Assists with job-search skills instruction and vocational opportunities for students.
• Communicates with instructional staff and administrators to support IEP objectives.
• Follows health and safety practices and reports hazards.
• Provides basic physical support to students, including mobility assistance.
• Supports daily living skills and self-help skills development.
• Monitors students in diverse environments to maintain a safe learning space.
• Observes and supports de-escalation and behavior progress per procedures.
• Operates audio-visual and office equipment used in instruction.
• Performs clerical tasks to support classroom activities.
• Provides instructional and support services to prepare students for school-to-career transitions.
