Job summary

Poway Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Vocational Education to support certificated teachers in delivering hands-on career-technical instruction. This position requires collaboration with staff, adherence to health and safety practices, and basic record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Two years of related vocational education support experience preferred.
• Ability to assist certificated teachers and follow lesson plans.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists a certificated teacher in providing instruction and reinforces lessons.
• Monitors and supervises students during drills, practices, and assignments.
• Communicates with teachers, staff, and students to relay information and resolve issues.
• Maintains health and safety practices and a clean learning environment.
• Monitors inventory levels and assists in ordering supplies.
• Operates classroom equipment and related instructional tools.
• Performs clerical tasks including attendance, grading support, and record keeping.
• Prepares classroom materials, displays, and equipment for lessons.
• Provides instructional support to students individually or in small groups.
• Supports health and safety of students and maintains safe learning spaces.
