Poway Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support certificated teachers in classrooms and small groups in Poway, CA. The role involves helping students improve reading, writing, vocabulary and math, and tutoring as needed.

The position is a substitute/limited term instructional assistant with duties including test administration, material preparation, behavior monitoring and clerical tasks. Starting hourly pay is posted on the district schedule.

Qualifications

• One year experience working with children in an organized setting.
• Ability to assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to groups or individuals.
• Experience supporting reading, writing, vocabulary and basic math activities.

Responsabilités

• Administer, monitor and score tests; explain instructions as needed.
• Prepare instructional materials aligned with lesson plans and reading collections.
• Observe and control student behavior according to procedures; report progress.
• Perform clerical duties and maintain student records and files.
• Support teacher with daily activities and prepare handouts, supplies and worksheets.
