Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers in Plymouth, MA seeks a School Shift Counselor to help maintain a safe, therapeutic school environment for COVE School students. Under supervision, you will apply intervention strategies aligned with IEP and treatment goals, support classroom transitions, and collaborate with teachers to engage students in small-group and individual activities.

This role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of residential child care experience, and basic computer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year child care experience in a residential setting with similar population of children.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision of the school’s classroom and out-of-classroom spaces.
• Apply intervention strategies based on student IEP and treatment goals to engage students with co-regulation strategies.
• Collaborate with teaching faculty to plan and participate in activities with students on an individual and small group level.
• Teach age-appropriate life skills and social skills through modeling and counseling; participate in groups and activities to support growth.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment; manage spaces to provide a clean, organized environment for students.
