Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers Inc in Plymouth, MA, is seeking a School Shift Direct Support Counselor to provide a safe school environment and supportive supervision for students. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to apply intervention strategies based on IEP and treatment goals, helping students rejoin classes quickly and appropriately.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least one year of residential child care experience, plus computer literacy with Microsoft

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year child care experience in a residential setting with similar population of children.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and supportive school environment and supervise classrooms and spaces.
• Foster healthy relationships with clients based on IEP and treatment plans.
• Assist children with transitions between scheduled school activities.
• Coordinate with faculty to plan activities; teach life and social skills.
• Provide group and individual behavior support and intervention as trained.
• Coordinate medical and emergency situations with the supervisor.
• Communicate with program staff on client progress and challenges.
• Participate in all school faculty meetings and trainings.
• May work with residential students in cabins if needed.
• Provide First Aid as needed.
