Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking a School Shift Counselor to provide a safe, supportive school environment for COVE School students in Plymouth, MA. You will apply therapeutic approaches aligned with the school’s mission and treatment goals, supervising classrooms and coordinating care with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year child care experience in a residential setting with similar population of children.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision of the school’s classroom and out-of-classroom spaces.
• Apply intervention strategies based on student IEP and treatment goals.
• Engage out-of-class students with co-regulation strategies to rejoin classes.
• Coordinate with teaching faculty to plan activities and teach life and social skills.
• Provide group and individual behavior support and coordinate care with staff.
• Communicate with program staff about client progress and challenges.
• Participate in supervision meetings and staff trainings.
