Job summary

Piñon Unified School District is seeking a dedicated School Security Officer to protect students, staff, and property. Duties include patrolling campuses, securing doors and areas, and responding quickly to emergencies with the appropriate authorities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of security experience, and First Aid/CPR certification, with barriers to entry including a valid Arizona driver’s license. Benefits are offered and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in security enforcement or equivalent.
• Military service accepted.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas by foot, bicycle, or vehicle to prevent fires, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
• Conducts walk-throughs to secure doors, windows, gates and entrances/exits.
• Responds to emergencies and notifies responders as required; maintains surveillance for hazards.
• Maintains 2-way radio and communicates with school administration and security on duty.
• Prepares clear incident reports detailing incidents, involved individuals, witnesses and actions.
• Assists Safety Team Representative with evacuations and lockdown protocols when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
