Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a security supervisor-capacity professional to protect students, staff and property. Responsibilities include patrolling grounds, assisting with student conduct, and coordinating with police per the emergency plan.

Qualifications require a high school diploma and experience with the public or youth; Arizona laws for schools are preferred, and a background clearance is mandatory. 40-hour weeks, 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., type: Hourly, non-exempt.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college classes preferred in criminal justice or related field.
• Caring human relations skills; good written communications.
• Experience with the public and youth; neat appearance and good physical condition.
• Knowledge of Arizona laws pertaining to schools and youth preferred; background clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent substance abuse, fighting, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry.
• Learns names of individual students to assist with campus control.
• Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning; routes or detains; calls police per emergency plan.
• Reports unusual conditions or malfunctioning heating/plumbing/electrical systems.
• Patrols school grounds to detect and correct unauthorized or improperly parked vehicles.
• Makes written reports of security violations.
• Directs and controls vehicle traffic on district property when needed.
• Assists staff with student conduct.
• Serves as witness in disciplinary due process or court case as required.
• Performs other job-related duties to advance district priorities.
