Job summary

The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a proactive School Security Assistant to support safety in its middle and high schools. You will work under the principal's oversight, applying crisis intervention and first aid as needed, and collaborate with the Madison Police Department and other agencies.

Qualifications

• Must be highly competent and committed to student safety.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Experience working with crisis intervention and emergency medical procedures.
• Possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license and the availability of properly insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order using crisis intervention techniques.
• Investigate incidents and cooperate with law enforcement.
• Prepare incident reports and logs.
• Coordinate in and around the school building and grounds.
• Render First Aid as needed.
• Intervene in altercations to maintain safety and security.
• Participate in emergencies and drills.
• Coordinate with police and other agencies as needed.
• Enforce MMSD Conduct and Discipline Code and other regulations.
