Job summary

The Alamance County Sheriff's Office seeks a School Resource Officer to serve as a liaison between school administrators, staff, students and community programs. The role emphasizes visibility, preventive policing, and proactive relationship building within the School Resources Division.

Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid NC driver’s license, and must pass a background check, polygraph and drug screening.

Qualifications

• HSD or GED required; must meet minimum age and background check requirements.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Must pass oral interview, background check, polygraph, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assembles required documents and information for the School Resource Division.
• Obtains and maintains certifications applicable for the position.
• Reports to duty on time and maintains regular attendance.
• Maintains trust with students, staff and the community.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Sheriff or designee.
• Completes SRO Training (40 hours) and attends relevant local and out-of-state training.
