The Menta Education Group is seeking a Classroom Security Paraprofessional in Galesburg, IL to work with classroom instructors and staff, providing targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom and general support for all students. Qualifications

• Security or juvenile justice background is helpful.
• Must have a valid Illinois driver's license with passenger endorsement.
• Ability to operate tactfully under stress and manage classroom behavior.
• Must be at least 23 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and social-emotional support in the classroom
• Manage classroom behaviors
• Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff
• Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data
• Maintain classroom order and safety
• Provide general supervision of students inside the school setting
• Assist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and escalation in behavior
• Respond to emergency situations
• Provide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviors
• Think quickly, independently, and tactfully
