Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a former police officer with no more than two years separation from previous employment.
• Must be a US citizen; must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Successful applicants must pass a physical agility test.
• Virginia driver's license with no more than six demerit points in past 12 months or a DUI within past 4 years; vision 20/25 corrected.

Responsibilities

• Be assigned to a school as a school resource officer; conduct victim, witness and suspect interviews, prepare detailed police reports, make arrests, testify in court, interact with community members.
• Perform other police functions as assigned and as needed.
