Qualifications

• Prior law enforcement experience required.
• Must have completed or be able to complete School Resource Officer basic course.
• Virginia DCJS Law Enforcement Certification (road patrol) required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to engage students and deliver education on law-related topics.
• Residency in Virginia with valid VA driver’s license within 60 days of residency establishment.

Responsibilities

• Enforce laws, investigate criminal activity, maintain records, prepare reports, testify in court.
• Collaborate with schools to resolve safety issues in the schools.
• Enforce laws and provide law-related education to students and staff.
• Engage with students to foster positive relationships and deter delinquent behavior.
• Coordinate and oversee youth programs and security coverage for school events.
