Job summary

Middleborough Public Schools is seeking a qualified school psychologist to administer and interpret comprehensive psycho-educational assessments, including cognitive, academic, social, and behavioral-emotional evaluations, for designated students.

The role involves collaboration with staff, families, and outside agencies; participating in CST/MTSS initiatives, developing FBAs and BIPs, observing classrooms, and supporting students through counseling referrals and program implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and interpret comprehensive psycho-educational assessments (including cognitive, academic, social, and/or behavioral emotional assessments) for designated students at the assigned level.
  • Assess students referred for school counseling or social skills intervention, and provide intervention as appropriate, including consultation with staff and parents and referral to appropriate outside agencies when needed.
  • Communicate clearly with school personnel, parents, and community resources in providing services to students while maintaining confidential and professional relationships.
  • Participate actively in Team Meetings and assist Special Education Coordinator and/or act as Team Chairperson when required.
  • Participate in Building Child Study Team (CST) and with Response to Intervention/ Massachusetts Tiered Systems of Support initiatives.
  • Develop/oversee Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Conduct classroom and program observations when necessary.
  • Complete other duties as reasonably assigned by the Building Principal and Director of Pupil Personnel Services
