Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in school psychology with 60 semester hours.
  • Completion of a nine-month internship in school psychology.
  • Professional Educator’s License with School Psychologist endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual psychological examinations and interpret findings to generate recommendations for the child.
  • Demonstrate readiness and/or prior training in MTSS and PBIS.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary educational staffings for determination of educational objectives and need for placement and/or services.
  • Provide direct service to students, individually or in groups.
  • Participate in parent education and development of parent understanding.
  • Consult with teachers and school personnel on behavior management and learning problems.
  • Provide crisis intervention including violence threat assessments and suicide assessments with supervision.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication techniques.
  • Work with school, health, and social welfare agencies as a team member.
  • Pursue professional growth through in-service training and study, with respect to ethical and legal aspects of school psychology.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director of Student Support Services.

Education

Master’s Degree or higher in school psychology with 60 semester hours
Nine-month internship in school psychology
Professional Educator’s License with School Psychologist endorsement
