Job summary

Independent School District 196 in Minnesota is seeking a licensed School Psychologist to join our MTSS-focused team. The role involves administering, scoring, and interpreting normative assessments, and providing written and oral reports to families and professionals.

You will participate in multidisciplinary teams serving students birth through 21, including EL students, and collaborate on interventions, data analysis, and culturally responsive practices to ensure equitable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in School Psychology (required).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as School Psychologist in Minnesota.
  • Experience with diverse cultures, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and communicate well in writing and orally.
  • Experience in a school setting serving birth-21.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, score, and interpret assessments and report to parents, students, and professionals.
  • Administer informal assessments via interviews and classroom observations to support results.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team to identify students with disabilities ages birth through 21, including EL students.
  • Provide consultation to staff and parents for improving behavior and academics through interventions and classroom strategies.
  • Develop interventions and implement strategies for improving academics and behavior under MTSS.
  • Support culturally responsive practices to achieve equitable outcomes for all students.
  • Conduct trainings for district staff on problem solving, data collection/analysis, cultural competence in assessment, mental health, and positive behavioral support.
  • Assist with due process procedures including eligibility, parent rights, and record keeping.
  • Assist in district projects requiring consultation and/or direct services of a school psychologist.
  • Travel within the district and adapt to changing work environment with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Maintain current knowledge of assistive technology to support students.
  • Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.
  • Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.

Education

Master's degree in School Psychology
Licensed or Eligible for licensure by the Minnesota Department of Education as a School Psychologist
